Responsibility Statement
Our Responsibility Statement
Acklam Black was made to be savoured, not rushed. Every bottle is crafted for slow evenings, good company and the kind of conversations that run long after the music fades. That spirit only works when it's enjoyed with care. That's why responsible drinking sits at the heart of everything we do, from the way we make our rum to the way we talk about it.
As a London brand born in W10, we know we're part of a community, not apart from it. We take our place in that community seriously. Everything we create is aimed at adults of legal drinking age, and we market Acklam Black with the same care we put into the bottle. We'd rather you remember the night than the drink.
We follow the UK's codes for responsible alcohol marketing, including the Portman Group Code of Practice and the CAP Code. We support the work of organisations promoting a healthier relationship with alcohol. We're committed to celebrating moderation and never encouraging excess.
Enjoying Acklam Black Responsibly
- A single 25ml serve of Acklam Black contains 1 unit of alcohol. A 70cl bottle contains 28 units.
- The UK Chief Medical Officers advise that adults should not regularly drink more than 14 units a week, spread over three or more days.
- If you're pregnant or trying to conceive, the safest approach is not to drink alcohol at all.
- Never drink and drive, or operate machinery after drinking.
- Choosing not to drink is always a good choice, and you'll always be welcome at our table.
